Working with ASL

In 2004, the Institute for Shock Physics (ISP) established the Applied Sciences Laboratory (ASL), a Spokane-based contract-research organization, with support from the Office of Naval Research and the Spokane community. As the applied research component of ISP, ASL builds on more than half a century of scientific excellence. ASL integrates multidisciplinary activities in the sciences and engineering to undertake a broad range of applied research projects for corporations and government agencies.

The ISP/ASL entrepreneurial scientists and engineers conduct high quality, innovative and multidisciplinary research. These research activities are conducted in partnership with business, government, and other academic organizations. ASL has established a unique research presence in the sciences and engineering, including biomedical activities, and provides economic development and outreach opportunities throughout the region.
