Corrosion Resistant Coatings
Corrosion resistant coatings are an important part of protecting metal components and structures against degradation due to moisture, salt spray, and oxidation from a variety of environmental or industrial chemicals.
ASL is equipped with electrochemical workstation and ASTM standard test equipment for accelerated corrosion testing. These are used for ongoing research and as a service center to local industry. Representative standard test facilities available at ASL include:
- Tafel plots and corrosion potential
- Electron impedance spectroscopy (EIS)
- Salt-Fog Chamber (ASTM Corrosion Tests)
- Thermotron humidity and temperature cycling chambers
- SEM-EDS analysis
