Undergraduate Research Opportunities

Encouraging Scientific Careers

For over 20 years, the Applied Sciences Laboratory (ASL) has been providing unique research opportunities in the Spokane area for undergraduate students. More than 40 undergraduate students have been employed either part time during the school year and/or full time over the summer.

Physics, Engineering, Chemistry, and/or Computer Science students in these positions gain experience working with scientific professionals and specialized equipment supporting multidisciplinary research in the physical sciences.

The experience also provides access to other educational activities, including information about graduate education and career opportunities in physical science and engineering.

Whitworth undergraduate students share their experiences working with the ASL.

Interested students should send a statement of research and career interests, along with a current resume, to asl@wsu.edu.
